About the position

The Senior Manager, Solar Asset Development at Brookfield Renewable is responsible for overseeing the development of utility-scale solar projects from inception to financing. This role involves managing multiple projects, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The position requires a strong understanding of project management in the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar development.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day development tasks for a set of large, complex renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle, up to construction.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and leading the work of multiple technicians & subject matter experts, consultants, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establishing and managing project budgets, schedules, and CAPEX pricing throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Tracking project risks throughout the development cycle, providing risk assessments and proactively managing reasonable mitigation strategies.
  • Delivering development projects on time and on budget.
  • Supporting the preparation of all materials needed by the Origination, Capital Markets & EPC teams to facilitate offtake, financing, and construction of complex deals.
  • Acting as a clearinghouse for development related questions from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitating productive communication between internal groups and leading project reporting consistent with expectations specified by Management.

Requirements

  • Professional and thorough approach to project development, with a strong understanding of technical, financial and commercial drivers.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA or related Masters' degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience handling project development of utility-scale solar or solar + storage projects.
  • Ability to develop strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to travel to project locations on an as needed basis and in general up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in MS Office Suite (Office, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Procore or a similar project management application.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $150,000 - $190,000
