About the position

As a Senior Manager in the food category, you will lead the development and maintenance of supplier management strategies, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations. This role requires collaboration with sourcing and technical teams to monitor suppliers and implement risk management strategies, all while fostering a culture of trust and credibility within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate Supplier Management strategic vision to manage risk and protect the brand.
  • Implement Supplier Management Standards for the assigned category.
  • Work closely with suppliers and the supply team to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Manage supplier verification programs and parameters critical to food safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop strategy, specifications, and conduct audits and risk assessments for higher risk product suppliers.
  • Support the supplier onboarding process and provide technical consultation for qualifying suppliers.
  • Manage supplier recalls and food safety-related complaints and investigations.
  • Review and monitor supplier food safety key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Facilitate engagement and communication with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance strategy aligns with business objectives.
  • Support communication efforts to ensure leadership understands food safety risks.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of food safety supplier management experience, preferably in large corporations.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems and manufacturing processes (GSSI, FSMA, etc.).
  • Advanced HACCP knowledge.
  • Expert communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to triage and prioritize tasks between day-to-day operations and continuous improvements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
