About the position

The Senior Manager of Strategic Finance will lead the Finance Governance & Analytics team at PG&E, focusing on financial analysis and data-driven recommendations for employee benefits and general negotiations. This hybrid role involves collaborating with various leaders across the enterprise to drive performance and execute business goals, while also overseeing a team of Principal Analysts. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, strategic decision-making, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders across the enterprise to drive high performance and execute business goals and priorities.
  • Lead a team of high-performing Principal Analysts, focusing on continuous improvement and skills development.
  • Leverage business knowledge to raise and analyze risks and implementation costs of potential path forward scenarios for Benefits Coworkers Love and General Negotiations.
  • Provide expert financial advice and policy interpretation on all levels of economic activity within the enterprise and its programs.
  • Strategically partner with Regulatory and Legal as a Finance Partner for spend allocations related to ongoing CPUC decisions.
  • Drive positive change in the Value Delivery space.
  • Work closely with peer managers, other departments outside of Governance & Analytics, and others across the enterprise leadership team on the assessment of value-creating improvements, including complex analysis and modeling.
  • Implement process improvements, including root cause analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Finance; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years' experience leading and developing teams.
  • 4 years in analytical experience such as financial planning, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, or relevant work experience.

  • Successful track record of working collaboratively with and leading teams.
  • Ability to execute tactically as well as depict the whole idea/analysis strategically for Leadership teams across the enterprise.
  • Comfort interfacing with higher levels of the organization when communicating results and making recommendations.
  • Understands utility accounting fundamentals and the PG&E cost model to consult on program issues.
  • Ability to synthesize research, provide perspective, and develop implications for various stakeholders.
  • Strong experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Passion for understanding stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SAP R3, SAP BW.
  • MBA, CPA and/or CFA, or Data Science education.
