About the position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Work Transfer Manager to join our team in Jamestown, ND. This is an onsite position that plays a critical role in managing supplier work transfers within the aerospace and defense industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain processes and will be responsible for engaging with various functional and regional teams to ensure seamless transitions of work from one supplier to another. The role involves executing processes, standards, and operational plans that align with procurement goals, including managing requests for quotations (RFQs), negotiations, and cost accountability. The Senior Work Transfer Manager will also be tasked with approving and qualifying vendors to meet account needs and addressing any client issues that may arise. In this position, you will analyze and review price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant data to provide insights on reasonable pricing. You will prepare and review requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met through diligent monitoring of contract performance. The role requires managing all aspects of the relationship with specific suppliers within a commodity, directing schedules, and overseeing purchase orders for client accounts or product families. Timely delivery of products that meet quality standards and cost requirements is paramount, and you may also be responsible for delivery assurance of critical parts. Additionally, you will participate in Continuous Improvement events and activities, such as Value Stream Mapping or Kaizen Events, to enhance operational efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team, as you will have two direct reports managing work transfers. Responsibilities

  • Support and drive supplier work transfers from one to another, engaging with all relevant functional and regional teams.
  • Execute processes, standards, and operational plans in support of procurement goals, including RFQs, negotiations, cost accountability and/or program execution.
  • Approve and qualify vendors to fulfill account needs; respond to client issues or problems.
  • Analyze and review price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
  • Prepare and review request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
  • Analyze and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.
  • Direct and manage all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
  • Ensure product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
  • Perform delivery assurance responsibilities for critical parts as needed.
  • Participate in C.O.R.E./Continuous Improvement events and activities such as Value Stream Mapping or Kaizen Events.

Requirements

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Supply Chain processes, supplier interface and purchase order placement.
  • Understanding of contract structures, business terms and conditions.
  • Experience with MS Office and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time.
