This position is based in Sunnyvale, California, and reports directly to the Director of Operations. In this role, you will direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in Manufacturing Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, Customs Compliance, and Order Management of plant manufacturing operations. You will manage a department consisting of Manufacturing Planning & Demand Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Control Management, and Warehousing professionals, ensuring that the plant's operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will serve as the subject matter expert and consultant to develop and continuously improve processes, build a successful team based on delegation of responsibility, and empower them with the vital resources to complete their assignments. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development of production plans and schedules that optimize plant manufacturing resources while providing the fastest possible response to demands. You will also manage the plant's warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with all security, safety, health, and regulatory requirements, and track key performance indicators for materials management and related manufacturing activities. Additionally, you will work closely with Plant Management to achieve business objectives and respond to an ever-changing market, manage innovative ways to reduce cycle times and costs while maintaining or growing quality utilizing Six Sigma and LEAN Principles, and provide leadership and support on other assignments and projects as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a department consisting of Manufacturing Planning & Demand Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Control Management, and Warehousing professionals, in support of plant manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and consultant to develop and continuously improve the process each cycle.
  • Build a successful team based on delegation of responsibility and empowering them with the vital resources to complete their assignments.
  • Oversee development of production plans and schedules that optimize plant manufacturing resources while providing the fastest possible response to demands.
  • Oversee management of the plant's warehouse which receives, stores, packs, and ships raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with all security, safety & health, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the plant's inventory assets by balancing maximum customer service with minimum inventory investment, making adjustments to lot size rules and purchasing policies as required.
  • Track and report key performance indicators for materials management and related manufacturing activities, initiating corrective action when departmental performance does not meet target or plan.
  • Work closely with the Plant Management to achieve business objectives and maximum response to an ever-changing market.
  • Manage and initiate innovative ways to reduce cycle times and costs while maintaining or growing quality utilizing Six Sigma and LEAN Principles.
  • Provide leadership and support on other assignments and projects as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Materials or Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration required. Other majors such as Engineering may be considered.
  • Minimum 8 years experience leading Materials Management or Supply Chain functions.
  • Extensive familiarity with ERP software with expertise in all Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory Control applications.
  • Ability to use a PC and the following software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with PowerBI is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow spoken directives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to make decisions.

Nice-to-haves
