About the position

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain at QuidelOrtho is responsible for defining and executing supply chain strategies that enhance material flow, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and delivery. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with Operations leaders to address systemic issues and manage Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) in partnership with Commercial operations, Site Operations, and Finance. The position also focuses on developing a high-performing team dedicated to Talent Development, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Chain Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a site team including purchasing, vendor quality, production planning, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
  • Establish strategic direction and define team goals and individual objectives for the Operations Supply Chain organization.
  • Execute departmental responsibilities to achieve profitability goals and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Implement Lean Leadership principles, including robust operating mechanisms and continuous improvement culture.
  • Represent site product lines in corporate S&OP, translating sales forecasts into production plans.
  • Manage vendor selections, relationships, price negotiations, and corrective actions.
  • Develop purchase agreements and contracts with multifaceted terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with demand planning to adjust production planning and purchasing based on sales performance.
  • Assist Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with cGMP and ISO requirements.
  • Implement supplier management strategies to support quality and manufacturing objectives.
  • Serve as a key contact for corporate functional leadership regarding issue resolution and performance updates.
  • Manage department budget, staffing levels, individual development plans, and succession strategy.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain management with increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Progressive responsibility in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Desirable certifications: APICS CPIM, CFPIM, CIRM, or NAPM CPM.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to influence colleagues and direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage key stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge in material requirements planning and production planning methods.
  • Proven understanding of global chain-of-custody and distribution requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry/commodity specific knowledge preferred.
  • Effective use of MRP/ERP systems, with SAP experience being a plus.
