About the position
As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will lead a diverse team of developers and manage a portfolio of technology projects focused on creating solutions that meet regulatory needs. This role emphasizes collaboration with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences, while also mentoring team members and staying updated on technology trends.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
- Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
- Mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Utilize various programming languages and technologies including JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- At least 4 years of people management experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree
- 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks and Serverless
- 7+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
