About the position

The Senior Manager, Taxation at NTT America Solutions, Inc. is a senior management role focused on tax planning and strategy execution. This position involves overseeing income tax accounting, tax reporting, and tax audits while collaborating with senior management to align tax optimization with business initiatives. The role emphasizes fostering a collaborative team culture and achieving operational excellence in tax functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the tax team through strategic tax planning, compliance-related projects, and audit readiness.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of tax policies, programs, and practices; updates and aligns agreements, including transfer pricing mechanisms.
  • Evaluates tax implications of new transactions, including tax planning with implementation and integration, Mergers and Acquisitions tax due diligence, and new business ventures.
  • Manages all aspects of international tax planning and regional/local tax planning and reporting, including income tax and indirect tax as well as tax audits.
  • Monitors tax developments and changes, including new international tax laws impacting the organization.
  • Assesses and guides the organization on potential tax impacts, opportunities, and alternatives.
  • Provides technical and strategic tax guidance in a business partner relationship.
  • Manages a team of tax professionals, providing leadership and mentoring.
  • Responsible for the strategy, assessment, and application of technology tools utilized by the tax function.
  • Implements a continuous improvement mindset across the department.
  • Manages outside counsel and consultants supporting tax planning and compliance.
  • Oversees geographic tax compliance, reporting, and forecasting for the consolidated tax group.
  • Reviews business transactions to identify tax implications and advises on structuring transactions efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance/accounting or related field preferred.
  • Registered with a professional body as Tax Practitioner.
  • Extended tax management experience in a corporate tax department or as a senior-level tax professional in a public accounting firm.
  • Extended international tax experience with technical knowledge in various international statutes and regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing a group of tax professionals in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience providing technical tax advisory and structuring support for commercial transactions.
  • Experience leading tax compliance.
