About the position

As a Senior Manager Technical Accounting at Solventum, you will play a pivotal role in providing critical counsel on technical accounting matters, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position involves consulting on mergers and acquisitions, monitoring accounting standard-setting bodies, and partnering with external auditors to align on financial disclosures. Your expertise will contribute to the organization's strategic financial decisions and overall success.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical counsel and manage, research, and offer alternatives related to technical accounting matters across the organization.
• Consult with corporate strategy and finance leaders on divestitures, mergers, and acquisition diligence, providing accounting advisement on purchase accounting and strategic portfolio activities.
• Monitor the activities of accounting standard-setting bodies (FASB, SEC, AICPA, etc.) and coordinate communication and implementation of new standards.
• Collaborate with finance, treasury, tax, legal, and other departments on technical accounting issues impacting various aspects of the business.
• Partner with external auditors to coordinate review and alignment on technical memos and related financial statement disclosures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Ten (10) years of technical accounting and financial experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• CPA Certification (Active or Inactive).
• Requisite technical knowledge of US GAAP.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct accounting experience with business combinations, divestitures, strategic partnerships, and revenue recognition.
• Experience with financial diligence or supporting M&A execution.
• Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Experience leading others and contributing on cross-functional teams.
