About the position

The Senior Manager, Trade Compliance will oversee and manage trade compliance for the Maritime Sector at L3Harris Technologies. This role involves supervising trade compliance personnel across various locations, establishing sector policies, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and providing guidance to stakeholders. The position requires a strategic approach to export compliance, including the management of international agreements and licenses, and conducting training sessions to enhance compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise trade compliance for the Maritime Sector, including personnel at geographically separated locations.
  • Establish Sector policies and ensure compliance with trade policies at local business units.
  • Prepare agreements in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives.
  • Interpret governmental responses and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relations with government licensing authorities.
  • Analyze business initiatives per regulatory requirements and advise management on compliant execution.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance with federal regulations.
  • Develop and conduct audits of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliant transactions.
  • Support external audits and inquiries from US governmental control agencies.
  • Influence product development decisions through technical jurisdictional analysis.
  • Act as an Empowered Official responsible for the sector export program.
  • Develop and maintain sector-level policies and procedures in accordance with corporate policies and regulations.
  • Supervise on-site and remote trade compliance staff.
  • Provide strategic export guidance and advice to stakeholders for commercial and military sales programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training provided to stakeholders involved in international business.
  • Manage international agreements and licenses and oversee sector International Travel.
  • Assist Global Trade Group with investigations of non-compliance with import/export laws.
  • Prepare for and respond to trade compliance audits conducted by corporate and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and supervise personnel to achieve business goals.
  • Export product knowledge in dealing with overseas product and/or technical data.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform data mining and ad hoc reporting.
  • Basic understanding of Incoterms and Global Logistics.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external customer relationships.
