About the position

The Senior Manager, Transaction Tax Transformation and Automation is responsible for managing technology automation projects that transform clients' tax organizations. This role involves overseeing project teams, managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables, while also maintaining client relationships and providing technical leadership. The Senior Manager will lead various phases of software development and implementation, ensuring successful delivery of tax automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of technology automation projects for clients' tax organizations.
  • Oversee project teams and manage project scope, tasks, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Create and execute project workplans, enforcing proper methodology and standards.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and oversee the creation of custom solutions for client tax automation needs.
  • Review documentation and deliverables created by the project team, confirming business and system processes for tax determination.
  • Develop project workplans and timelines associated with project deliverables.
  • Manage client data acquisition to support tax technology services as required.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly project status reports to all project stakeholders.
  • Lead implementation, testing, maintenance, and support of software based on technical design specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology and Management.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in Accounting.
  • Five to ten years of related tax automation and technology experience.
  • Experience leading a team and providing coaching and mentorship.
  • Strong solution-minded and design skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Working knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, Data ETL tools, and data visualization tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Generative AI & LLM.
  • ERP knowledge specific to tax determination and finance.
  • Experience with SAP ECC / HANA.
  • Tax Technology software experience such as OneSource Determination, Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, OneSource Compliance.
