About the position

The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines is focused on innovating and transforming business processes through advanced analytics. This role involves directing a team of Continuous Improvement (CI) experts to deliver key initiatives that align with United's strategic objectives. The position requires collaboration with various business and technology partners to influence strategic decisions and improve operational efficiencies across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Directing a team of CI experts responsible for delivering key initiatives consistent with United's business plan.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, and training on Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Acting as a thought partner with leadership to select, scope, and prioritize initiatives.
  • Developing projects and solutions to align the team's portfolio with United's strategic objectives.
  • Leading through influence to drive sustainable results while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Benchmarking and implementing best practices across the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full-time continuous improvement role.
  • Experience in large scale and diverse process improvement implementation.
  • Progress toward Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized institution.
  • Ability to apply advanced Lean or Six Sigma principles to process improvement.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • 1+ years of GB and BB training experience with a strong success rate (60% or higher).
  • 3+ years of work experience using statistical analysis.
  • 3+ years of diverse CI portfolio implementation.
  • Previous airline business experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
