About the position

The Senior Manager of Trucking Operations at Flexport is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing internal trucking operations within the company's Omni-channel fulfillment network. This position requires a strong operational leader with expertise in transportation and logistics, tasked with managing P&L to drive profitability and efficiency. The role involves collaborating with tech and product teams to develop innovative operational strategies, enhancing service while lowering costs, and fostering a culture of problem-solving and experimentation. The Senior Manager will also monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies for continuous improvement, making this a high-visibility and impactful position within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions that enhance operations for the internal transportation network.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and create features that address operational challenges.
• Foster a culture of problem-solving and experimentation within teams.
• Oversee the entire internal Omni-Channel transportation network, including LTL and FTL inbounds.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction across the transportation network.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics for continuous improvement.
• Own the P&L for operations, developing and managing budgets to meet financial objectives.
• Identify and implement cost optimization strategies to improve efficiency.
• Partner with technology and product teams to build innovative solutions that drive operational effectiveness.
• Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven experience as a Manager or similar leadership role in a transportation environment.
• Strong knowledge of all modes of transportation, including LTL, FTL, Domestic drayage, and transloading.
• Demonstrated success in managing and developing large teams with a hands-on leadership approach.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and KPI-driven performance improvement.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a technical mindset.
• Familiarity with TMS systems (Shipwell would be a plus).
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the transportation industry.
