About the position

The YMCA Enterprise Shared Services (YESS) organization is dedicated to creating a sustainable shared services model that will enhance the operational efficiency of Y Associations across the United States. The YESS Implementation Senior Manager - Finance plays a pivotal role in this initiative, focusing on the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of multiple system implementation projects. This position is crucial for managing the transition of YMCA Associations to the YESS framework, ensuring that all migration efforts are executed smoothly and effectively. The Senior Manager will work closely with functional YESS Leaders, Association Leadership, and third-party vendors to facilitate communication and ensure that all tasks are planned and executed in a timely manner. In this role, the Senior Manager will oversee change management planning and communications, which are essential for a successful transition. This includes the development of communication plans and materials that will be used to inform both YESS and Association Leadership during the migration process. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing the chart of accounts planning and transformation, ensuring that all financial data is accurately migrated and compliant with YESS Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, the role involves implementing training programs and system testing documentation to prepare Associations for the new systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading client-facing engagements, change management, and accounting oversight. They will possess strong organizational skills and a professional presence, enabling them to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. The Senior Manager will also be expected to analyze data, solve errors during the migration process, and refine training documents to meet the evolving needs of Y Associations. This position is not only about managing projects but also about fostering collaboration and inclusion within the YMCA network, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of multiple system implementation projects within YESS.
  • Manage change management planning and communications for a successful transition for YMCA Associations to YESS.
  • Oversee all efforts for migrating an Association to YESS, including facilitation and oversight of project and migration efforts.
  • Develop communication plans and associated materials for YESS and Association Leadership during migration.
  • Manage chart of accounts planning and transformation.
  • Act as a liaison with Association Senior Leadership and YESS Leadership.
  • Implement Association training and system testing documentation.
  • Ensure effective communications with Y Associations to collect data for conversion requirements promptly.
  • Supervise pre-go-live conversion of old to new Y dimensions.
  • Work with YESS and Association Leadership to refine and complete post go-live chart of account edits and iterations.
  • Document and communicate major changes to the chart of accounts.
  • Train team members to effectively convert chart of accounts ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to YESS Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform data analysis and communicate effectively with Associations to resolve errors within the chart of accounts conversion.
  • Ensure successful and prompt conversion and migration of all Chart of Account data.
  • Refine training and testing documents to current needs and Y Association requirements.
  • Communicate with key Association stakeholders to build training and testing schedules.
  • Verify trainers and testers are prepared to complete testing.
  • Analyze and adjust training and testing procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Facilitate additional training with YESS technology vendors as needed.

Requirements

  • Five (5) plus years leading client-facing engagements from inception to completion.
  • Five (5) plus years proven change management experience with the ability to build and execute change management strategies.
  • Five (5) plus years accounting and bookkeeping experience (YMCA preferred).
  • Three (3) plus years in accounting oversight and management.
  • Shared Services experience preferred (YMCA a PLUS).
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Professional presence in communication and demeanor.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting operations within software.
  • Skilled presenter comfortable with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred knowledge and experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and/or UKG.
  • Preferred experience in systems and data migration and integration - APIs, data analysis, scripting, Python, SQL, advanced Excel, etc.
  • Effective communication skills for interviewing Y Associations on their current state processes and systems configuration.
