About the position

The Senior Managing SAP Analytics SME at IBM is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of SAP analytics solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership, project management, technical expertise, and team mentoring to ensure that analytics capabilities align with business goals and enhance decision-making processes. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders and managing a team of SAP developers and analysts to deliver high-quality analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define Analytics Strategy to align SAP analytics solutions with business goals.
• Act as the point of contact for stakeholders to understand business requirements and define analytics roadmaps.
• Provide expertise on SAP analytics products like SAP BW, SAP HANA, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for SAP analytics projects.
• Ensure the availability of technical resources for successful project delivery.
• Identify risks in analytics projects and establish mitigation plans.
• Lead the design and development of SAP analytics architectures and data models.
• Oversee the integration of various data sources into SAP systems.
• Choose appropriate SAP analytics tools and ensure architectural soundness.
• Manage a team of SAP developers, data architects, and analysts, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Ensure continuous development of the team through training in SAP tools.
• Implement data governance policies to ensure data accuracy and security.
• Monitor data quality and work with data stewards for consistency.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise in data modeling and analytics development when needed.
• Resolve high-level technical issues related to SAP analytics systems.
• Oversee the design and development of SAP-based reports and dashboards.
• Ensure key performance indicators are tracked and reported correctly.
• Identify areas for optimization in current SAP analytics deployments.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP analytics tools and recommend upgrades.
• Work with security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Implement security measures within SAP analytics systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs.
• Ensure SAP analytics systems work seamlessly with the underlying infrastructure.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the SAP landscape, including modules like SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong understanding of master data, transactional data, and data governance principles with at least 5 end-to-end go-lives executed.
• Experience with ETL processes in SAP environments.
• Understanding of database management and data integration within SAP systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, or PM and Master Data.
