About the position

The Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in implementing scalable manufacturing systems for the Amazon Dash Cart and other confidential projects. This position requires a strong background in manufacturing processes, risk management, and collaboration with design engineers to enhance product sustainability and efficiency within a complex supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing process feedback for scalability on mechanical and electromechanical designs.
  • Guide best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T.
  • Assist the Supply Chain team in launching tooling with accelerated schedules.
  • Review manufacturing processes, fixtures & equipment, identify risks and mitigate.
  • Qualify production processes based on dimensional data, control plans.
  • Drive internal and external PFMEA reviews.
  • Solve technical problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.
  • Act as the manufacturing subject matter expert in reviews and interactions with design engineers.
  • Propose design change suggestions that will enhance product sustainability.
  • Evaluate and manage new and existing suppliers for scalability.
  • Evaluate production, supplier and field failures for root cause analysis and resolution.

Requirements

  • BSME/EE or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise with new product development.
  • Familiarity with industry standard tools for problem solving and risk management.
  • Broad manufacturing commodity background (Mechanical and Electrical).
  • Deep commodity experience with one or more of the following: Sheet metal manufacturing, Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Sensors, Cameras, Cables, Structures/Weldments, Plastic Components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering or Business Master's degree.
  • Experience across multiple design and operations disciplines.
  • 3+ years technical team leadership.
