About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Chemical Process at GKN Aerospace is responsible for providing technical expertise in the development and maintenance of chemical processes and manufacturing technologies. This role focuses on ensuring zero defect projects through engineering and problem-solving skills, while aligning operational processes with local regulations and industry standards. The engineer will lead initiatives to improve production processes and provide oversight for complex manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of chemical processes and industrial wastewater treatment systems.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in chemical processing fields such as electroplating and chemical cleaning.
  • Align operational processes with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide solutions for production issues through troubleshooting and data analysis.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for production issues.
  • Ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Provide technical expertise for manufacturing development and integration projects.
  • Rapidly solve vendor schedule and quality issues with technical expertise.
  • Break down technical problems and create value through Zero Defects initiatives.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers and co-workers.
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
  • Provide local project technical oversight for manufacturing process solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of production planning from concept to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Aerospace, Chemical, Mechanical, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working with chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Ability to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
