Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Programmer to provide essential technical support to operations, develop manufacturing process layouts, and design tools and fixtures specifically for Naval applications. This role is critical in ensuring that all production methodologies align with customer requirements, productivity standards, and quality expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting product development projects while adhering to designated cost, quality, and timeline constraints. This position is based onsite at our Blount Island facility in Jacksonville, FL, and may require a shift change from first to second shift in the future. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine methodologies to create detailed drawings or sketches that guide drafting personnel in completing process sequencing. Your expertise in cutting tool technology, fixture design, machining, and CNC programming techniques will be instrumental in establishing best practices for production. You will continuously collaborate with machinists to enhance machining efficiencies and sustain standard machining techniques. Utilizing lean manufacturing methods, you will work to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs. Additionally, you will perform research for equipment acquisition and develop Return on Investment (ROI) reports to justify equipment purchases. You will be tasked with developing manufacturing methods and work instructions for new products or equipment to meet productivity and quality requirements. Ensuring that processes yield products that meet cost and quality expectations with reliability and consistency is a key responsibility. You will also assist in determining the necessary tools, jaws, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations. Documentation development to support machining programs using Computer Aided Manufacturing systems will be part of your duties, ensuring production expectations for productivity, quality, and safety are met. Training production machinists to enhance their knowledge base and development will also be a significant aspect of your role. You will provide high-level service to all internal and external customers, sharing knowledge and lessons learned while contributing to a positive teamwork environment. As a troubleshooter for assembly, machining processes, and manufacturing problems, you will work closely with Applications Engineering, Purchasing, Quality Representatives, Product and Process Suppliers, and customers to resolve issues. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety and environmental procedures is essential, as is reporting any incidents to your supervisor. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and you will be expected to accomplish related results as required.
