About the position

The Senior Lead Manufacturing Engineer at International will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and implementation of assembly equipment and processes for a new powertrain platform at the Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL. This position involves collaboration with global production teams, ensuring that manufacturing processes are standardized and aligned with product development, and overseeing the launch of new products while meeting quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in assembly layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installation
• Act and represent International in a global production team
• Be the voice of production to product development
• Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly sequence, assembly methods and production equipment investments
• Standardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other manufacturing facilities
• Coordinate pre-series builds and production launch of the new product including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluate and act on results
• Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience
• At least 1 year lead experience
• OR Master's degree with at least 6 years of product manufacturing experience and at least 1 year lead experience
• OR at least 10 years of product manufacturing experience with at least 1 year lead experience

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient with electric torque controlled fastening tools
• Proficient with press equipment and processes
• Proficient with launching new products
• Competence with maintaining and following up project budgets
• Competence with developing and maintaining project timelines
• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools preferred Siemens NX
• Experience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
• Experience with presenting resolutions to quality issues
• Experience with leak testing
• Experience with Robotic Assembly systems
• Ability and willingness to lead and guide other professionals or colleagues
• Ability and willingness to learn from others
