About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments and related fields. You will ensure that both Integer's internal and external customers' expectations are met or exceeded. Adhering to Integer's core values and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements is essential, including compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and other regulatory requirements. Your role will involve developing new and unique approaches to complex problems and leading projects that advance Integer's technological capabilities. You will investigate and interpret internal or external technology and business trends, recommending best practices to the organization. Evaluating, developing, and implementing a wide range of new technologies of significant scope and complexity will be part of your responsibilities. You may also identify and procure new equipment and technology that are complex and costly. In this role, you will originate new documents such as protocols, reports, specifications, and work instructions, and review documentation work products of peers and subordinates. You will plan and develop engineering projects that address unique or high-profile problems impacting major programs. Leading cross-functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity may also be part of your duties, as well as influencing others to achieve goals. You may provide supervision for up to 4 to 5 technicians and/or associate engineers, serving as a coach and mentor for other engineers, modeling the behaviors and disciplines of a technical professional. Building and maintaining relationships with individuals and business units within or outside your site or organization is crucial. As a subject matter expert in an engineering or specialty field, you may be directed to deploy your expertise across multiple organizations and/or locations, which may require occasional travel. You will embed Quality within the Engineering discipline, taking ownership of Quality and being a standard bearer for Quality in all activities at Integer. This includes assuring adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS), facilitating and contributing to corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the successful attainment of quality KPIs and the journey to 5 Sigma. You will also support Integer's Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation Strategies, championing the development and deployment of systems and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Embracing the Manufacturing Excellence culture based on the Integer Production System and its five focus areas will be essential. You will be measured on various specific measures, including safety, quality achievement of site KPIs, and your ability to identify ways to shorten project durations and lead systemic changes to current processes and procedures for greater efficiencies. Innovation and ideation are critical aspects of your role, and you will be expected to generate continuous improvement suggestions and support their implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related technical field; Master's Degree or Doctorate preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering and/or technically focused roles and experiences; candidates with 15+ years of relevant experience may be considered without the degree requirement.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving foundation, with training and certifications in problem-solving and project management methodologies such as 6-Sigma (green belt minimum, black belt preferred), 8D, RCA, 5-Why, Ishikawa (Fish Bone), Kepner-Tregoe, PMP.
  • Ability to observe, analyze, and develop solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead team activities and act as a coach for less experienced associates.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and oral.
