About the position

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Radiation Safety Technology, you will be at the forefront of advancing manufacturing processes for innovative radiation detection and protection products. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the production of these critical technologies meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development (R&D) and Product Engineering, to facilitate the transition of new products from prototype stages to full-scale production. Your expertise will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing excellence and operational efficiency. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes for new product introductions, ensuring that these processes are scalable and adhere to stringent quality standards. You will lead and support process validations, equipment qualifications, and tooling designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Your role will also involve driving cost reduction initiatives through process improvements, yield optimizations, and the application of lean manufacturing techniques. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and guidance on manufacturing issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Establishing and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions will be a key part of your responsibilities. As a mentor, you will train junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team. Collaboration with Supply Chain Management will be crucial to ensure seamless material availability and maintain supplier quality, ultimately contributing to the success of the organization in delivering high-quality radiation safety technology products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new product introductions, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead and support process validations, equipment qualifications, and tooling designs to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through process improvements, yield optimizations, and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Engineering teams to transition new products from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on manufacturing issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Establish and maintain documentation related to manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Management to ensure seamless material availability and supplier quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a regulated industry, preferably in medical devices, nuclear technology, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in leading manufacturing process improvements, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, etc.) and experience with process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
