About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing production floor support and driving process improvements for the assembly of complex components using automated equipment. This role involves leading new product launches, capacity planning, and procurement of new machinery, while ensuring efficient manufacturing processes and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide production floor support and process improvement for assembly operations.
• Lead the new product launch team to design manufacturing plans.
• Plan and conduct evaluations and modifications of standard techniques and procedures.
• Act as the process owner for a designated departmental process.
• Determine parts, tools, and gaging needed to achieve manufacturing goals.
• Evaluate machine builders and procure new equipment as needed.
• Lead machine installation, robotic integration, and handoff to production.
• Support ongoing equipment modifications for efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine downtime issues across various systems.
• Support production and maintenance teams during machine downtime.
• Plan and design manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Write required narratives to justify funding for cost reductions.
• Utilize knowledge of GD&T and metrology to provide manufacturability feedback.
• Assist in training manufacturing associates and updating process documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Industrial Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry preferred.
• Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
