About the position
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design of production machinery and identify solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring manufacturing excellence for medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead process optimization and automation initiatives
- Develop and validate manufacturing procedures aligned with ISO/FDA requirements
- Drive cost reduction through innovative manufacturing solutions
- Lead equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and new product transitions
- Design fixtures and tooling to enhance production efficiency
- Manage documentation including work instructions and engineering changes
- Provide technical leadership for production support and problem resolution
- Partner with R&D on manufacturability and cost optimization
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in medical devices
- Proven expertise in Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
- Strong foundation in engineering drawings, specifications, and process planning
- Experience with SolidWorks and technical documentation
- Machine shop knowledge (milling, turning, grinding) valued
- Excellence in problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical skills and self-motivated work style
