About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Cyient is responsible for leading continuous improvement and quality improvement projects within a manufacturing plant. This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, velocity, and cost efficiency in the production of heavy equipment products. The position requires hands-on experience and collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective manufacturing processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes and procedures using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Create and update quality and manufacturing processes for heavy equipment products.
• Oversee equipment installation and related work such as foundations, utilities, hoists, fixtures, and runoffs.
• Execute quality improvement initiatives using APQP tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, design, and logistics.
• Prepare formal technical reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of full-time work experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in a factory environment, specifically in the Heavy Equipment or Agricultural Equipment industry.
• Experience working in a factory environment with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, welding, and engineering drawing expertise.
• Familiarity with GD&T, PFMEA, and APQP.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with Caterpillar (contract or otherwise).
• ASQ certification in Six Sigma or Certified Quality Engineer.
• SME certification in Lean Manufacturing.
