UCT is looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join us in Austin, TX! This role requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, and Bill of Materials to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.'s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build. This position also involves preparing and/or modifying work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum while ensuring proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects. The role requires contact with customers and vendor representatives, attending and participating in customer meetings, and conferring with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will inspect completed systems, partner with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications, and compliance with operational and safety standards. Additionally, this position supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget, investigates customer or internal issues, determines the nature and extent of problems, and recommends corrective actions. The engineer will also assist in cost estimations and developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs, evaluate and process Engineering Change Orders, and perform other duties as required. Attendance is an essential duty of this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or an Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e., Sequence).
  • ERP System Software proficiency.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
  • Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment.
