About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering Services Department, primarily responsible for supporting new product development, sustaining existing products, and managing product and sub-assembly transfers to other sites or suppliers. This role involves a significant amount of interaction with various departments including Design, Manufacturing Project Engineering, Program Management, Estimating, Purchasing, and Planning. The engineer will be tasked with loading Item Masters, Bill of Materials (BoM), and Routing into the Oracle ERP system, utilizing information provided by Estimating, Programming, and Project Engineers. In this position, the engineer will lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from induction to delivery, ensuring that all processes are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role requires a strong focus on enhancing manufacturing processes, including optimizing existing production and machining processes, and driving cost reductions. The engineer will also assist the estimation team as needed for new projects, perform time studies, and compare actual setup and run times against quoted times. Additionally, the engineer will implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) in Oracle and perform lot size changes as applicable. A critical aspect of this role is the application of LEAN techniques, including participation and facilitation of Lean Kaizen events. The engineer will also be responsible for applying quality steps to routing as required, which includes data recording, special inspections, and First Article Inspections (FAI). This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in CNC Machining and assembly
  • Knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment
  • Expert in various types of finishing and outside processes
  • Expert in CAD/CAM packages
  • Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Good communication skills
