About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will join the Manufacturing Support Team at Collins Aerospace's Melbourne facility, focusing on evaluating and solving manufacturing problems related to design, process, and supplier issues for high-quality electronic assemblies. This role emphasizes technical support to operations, enhancing manufacturing flow through industrial engineering principles, and driving process improvements across multiple assembly steps.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple assembly process steps
  • Support Production Build Operators with immediate needs on Tooling and Processes to meet production schedule
  • Analyze and understand factory needs and requirements
  • Conduct Process Flow analysis and make improvements
  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing or increase production rates
  • Implement Procedure and process improvements based on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Identify and address safety concerns
  • Improve production facilities and equipment layouts
  • Provide information to management regarding equipment, manpower, space, and other elements affecting manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined by local laws
  • Continuous Improvement qualifications.
