About the position

The Senior Marketing Manager, Digital Solutions at Abbott is a pivotal role within the Medical Devices Division, located in Sylmar, CA. This position is designed for a highly skilled professional who will lead the development and launch of critical product lines within the Digital Solutions portfolio. The role requires a deep understanding of both the market and the products, as the Senior Marketing Manager will act as the product champion, responsible for the entire lifecycle of the products from conception to launch and beyond. This includes identifying global customer needs, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the products meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. In this role, you will be expected to contribute to the strategic planning of the product lines, including competitive analysis and market positioning. You will monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. The Senior Marketing Manager will also lead customer research initiatives, translating findings into actionable insights that inform product development and marketing strategies. This position requires a strong focus on customer engagement, as you will be responsible for building relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and managing advisory boards to gather insights and feedback. Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager will oversee the execution of product launch plans, ensuring that all marketing communications and educational materials are effectively developed and distributed. You will work closely with the commercial organizations to achieve sales targets and drive market development activities. This role is not only about managing products but also about mentoring and coaching team members to foster a productive and innovative marketing culture within Abbott. You will present to senior leadership and contribute to building a best-in-class marketing approach that aligns with Abbott's mission to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and launch of critical product lines within Digital Solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans, including competitive analysis and market positioning.
  • Build out business opportunities and business cases for products.
  • Monitor customer, competitor, and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.
  • Be the Product Champion for key product lines within the Digital Solutions portfolio.
  • Lead customer research and product/service ideation, design, and testing.
  • Translate research and data into personas, journey maps, service-design blueprints, features, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-business unit and cross-functional teams including Designers, Engineers, Marketing, Clinical, Finance, R&D, and Regulatory.
  • Manage physician advisory boards, congress/symposium, and other KOL engagement activities.
  • Build marketing communications and educational materials to support sales and key marketing messages.
  • Drive market development activities through best practices and development of tools to raise awareness of digital solutions products.
  • Ensure launch and post-launch success; offer leadership to commercial organizations and on-market teams.
  • Mentor and coach others in the team to build a strong and productive culture.
  • Present to senior leadership, customers, and across Abbott.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of product management and/or downstream marketing experience.
  • Comfortable with both upstream and downstream marketing activities.
  • Experience working with technical products and teams, particularly in digital and/or data management products and services.
  • Creative problem solver with an agile mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage to plan and resolve issues effectively.
  • Polished communicator with strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and changing environment with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • MBA or other related advanced degree.
  • Data Science or EHR related expertise.

  • Experience in digital health technology, preferably in the health or medical space.
