As a Senior Social Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the strategy for our Instacart-owned social channels. This position requires a candidate with proven expertise in both Organic and Paid Social, as well as experience in Influencer and Affiliate Marketing. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Brand, Creative, Product, Media, Legal, and Communications, to create breakthrough social-first campaigns that align with our seasonal, product-driven, and brand marketing efforts. In this role, you will partner with our Associate Creative Director of Social and our Director of Brand & Culture to reinvent our social strategy. This includes developing evergreen content themes, engaging with creators and partnerships, and responding to reactive cultural and trending moments. This is a remote-based full-time position that reports to the Head of Consumer Marketing. You will have the exciting opportunity to form and execute a best-in-class social media program from the ground up, working alongside a newly hired ACD and a team of Creatives and Community Managers to build brand love for Instacart in culture. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing, championing, developing, and executing Instacart's holistic social strategy and presence, which should be rooted in creativity and backed by data and performance metrics. You will create strategic playbooks and content plans for both brand channels and adjacent efforts, such as Shopper Social and Caper Carts. Additionally, you will collaborate with our Paid Social, Influencer, and Affiliate teams to ensure a cohesive strategy that presents a consistent voice across the funnel, driving engagement and growth. You will also work with social platform representatives to stay updated on the capabilities of each platform and quickly identify and act on reactive opportunities in the cultural zeitgeist.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the strategy for Instacart-owned social channels.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Creative, Product, Media, Legal, and Comms teams to create social-first campaigns.
  • Partner with the Associate Creative Director of Social to reinvent the social strategy.
  • Create strategic playbooks and content plans for brand channels and adjacent efforts.
  • Work with Paid Social, Influencer, and Affiliate teams to ensure a cohesive strategy across the funnel.
  • Collaborate with social platform representatives to stay updated on platform capabilities.
  • Identify and act on reactive opportunities in the cultural zeitgeist.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in Social Media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at senior levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Nimble, resourceful, and detail-oriented; thrives in a collaborative work environment.
  • A growth mindset with a high standard for quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with social media tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Meltwater.
  • Proven experience building a social media strategy and successful social programs that have achieved significant follower growth.
  • Experience developing reactive creative that has driven social conversation and earned media attention.
