About the position

The Senior Material Coordinator at Powell is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory control within the manufacturing facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with internal control procedures, utilizing data analysis to address discrepancies, and coordinating inventory management processes with accounting. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in switchgear units.

Responsibilities

• Utilize ABC analysis to determine cycle count schedule.
• Work on Oracle to analyze data and adjust discrepancies.
• Manage cycle function and analyze cycle count adjustments to develop root cause and countermeasures.
• Perform cycle counting and work with the warehouse team to implement countermeasures.
• Coordinate inventory management process with accounting and execute inventory accuracy during cycle counts.
• Track and audit cycle counts to ensure they are performed correctly and timely.
• Execute countermeasures to eliminate inventory errors.
• Set and maintain replenishment for parts and audit stock locations daily to ensure timely order arrivals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in Switchgear units is considered an asset.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform conversions between fractions, decimals, and metric/imperial measurements.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Basic computer knowledge considered an asset.
• Prior ability or interest in building or repairing mechanical components considered an asset.
• Safety training certificates are an asset for the position.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and knowledge of air tools.
• Previous experience in an industrial or warehouse setting.
