About the position

The Senior Material Handler at Guardant Health plays a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by managing inventory levels, processing incoming materials, and ensuring the safe storage of temperature-sensitive items. This position also involves acting as a backup for Facilities Management support, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming materials securely and safely.
• Store temperature-sensitive materials appropriately.
• Issue materials to work orders and other uses.
• Complete necessary transactions in the ERP system.
• Perform cycle counts and analyze inventory discrepancies.
• Implement, execute, and improve cycle count programs and two-bin systems.
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets as needed.
• Order supplies and track freight with various carriers.
• Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and scales safely and effectively.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in receiving, stockroom, shipping, material handling, and inventory analysis roles.
• Experience in a rapid-growth life science environment with temperature-sensitive materials is a plus.
• Forklift Certification preferred, not required.
• California Drivers License as required.
• Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules.
• Ability to work independently in a team environment.

• Previous work experience in a lab preferred.
• Experience with ordering supplies.
