About the position

The Senior Material Program Manager (MPM) at RTX Corporation is responsible for leading materials management for a program in Tucson, AZ. This role involves overseeing cost, schedule, and quality while managing supplier performance. The MPM will develop and implement material strategies, report on budgets, and support leadership reviews. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve operational results.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and implement material strategies to support program objectives
  • Reporting of material and labor budgets, earned value management, Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments
  • Support leadership reviews, including Gate Reviews, Monthly Operations Reviews, Program Reviews, and Customer Reviews
  • Lead supplier assessments, sourcing strategies, and proposal development activities
  • Improve supplier performance by utilizing key metrics and establishing an executable Supplier Engagement Plan
  • Resolve issues and conflicts within organizations, between organizations, and with suppliers
  • Drive a culture of identifying true root cause and implementing corrective actions to improve supplied part quality
  • Ability to travel at least 10% domestically, as required

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate planning and identify constraints, risks, and opportunities
  • Experience developing teaming and partnering relationships
  • Experience utilizing manufacturing or enterprise planning tools such as SAP and/or PRISM
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs or suppliers
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Prior experience in the defense industry within the supply chain function
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR and DFAR)
