About the position

The Senior Materials & Processes Engineer, Chemical Processes at Collins Aerospace will focus on supporting chemical processes used in nacelle components. This role involves creating and maintaining materials and process specifications, providing real-time support to design teams, and conducting supplier qualifications. The position requires effective communication with various personnel and includes travel to domestic and international facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain materials and process specifications for chemical processing of nacelle components.
  • Provide technical support to engineering groups, Operations, external customers, and suppliers.
  • Conduct special process supplier qualification audits.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of personnel up to Senior leadership.
  • Travel 10-20% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Typically a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and typically a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
  • Practical experience with chemical processes (passivation, etching, anodizing and/or painting).
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with chemical processes materials used in nacelles.
  • Technical writing (specifications) skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Teamcenter.
  • Continuous Process Improvement background (Lean, Six Sigma or CORE).
  • Experience with PowerPoint.
