The Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Project Engineering group at Marotta is tasked with designing new pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical products for a variety of Aerospace customers and platforms. This includes reusable commercial launch vehicles, deep space missions, military aircraft, and hypersonic missiles. The role requires a deep understanding of customer requirements, including design, functional, material, and test specifications, as well as adherence to cost targets established during the proposal stage. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with other disciplines such as manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure successful project execution. In this position, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for a range of engineering activities, whether related to development or sales orders. This includes defining project plans, conducting analyses, establishing test definitions, and coordinating manufacturing schedules and budgets. The engineer will also oversee the design and performance of product components and major assemblies, ensuring compliance with customer specifications. Key responsibilities include designing electronics mechanical packaging for high-reliability environments, performing design analyses, and maintaining ongoing surveillance of customer-driven changes. The role also involves providing engineering support to other departments and subcontractors, ensuring the accuracy of all project drawings and documents, and leading internal design reviews. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will communicate technical and schedule issues to management and assist in determining project resources and priorities.
