About the position
The Test Engineer will manage the testing process from design and planning through execution to completion, focusing on HVAC/R equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC, with responsibilities including test procedure development, data analysis, and operational improvements. The engineer will work independently and collaboratively to ensure efficient testing and provide technical communication to project customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the testing process for individual test subjects from design to completion.
- Plan and execute tests of chillers and components based on customer specifications.
- Participate in the development and review of test specifications.
- Facilitate test plans and identify resource requirements based on customer input.
- Meet with various engineering and management groups to agree upon test plans.
- Schedule tests and required resources within the test engineering team.
- Provide oversight and input to test technicians for data acquisition setup.
- Monitor and manage the test process, including data acquisition and analysis.
- Maintain proficiency in understanding chiller test data to guide customer engineering teams.
- Drive the creation of standard procedures and test standards.
Requirements
- BS degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years direct work experience in HVAC/R equipment development, servicing, or testing.
- Strong understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics.
- Experience in engineering and development testing with various test instrumentation.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and take ownership of assignments.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

- Experience in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments.
- Ability to guide or mentor less experienced technical personnel.
