Responsibilities
- Lead a mechanical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors.
- Mentor and manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members.
- Collaborate with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits.
- Engage with clients to evaluate their energy needs and develop concept-level plans and solutions.
- Oversee the detailed design and execution of energy projects from exploration to retirement.
- Participate in business development and strategy formation for new project opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience.
- Professional Engineering licensure (any US state).
- Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy and apply new technologies.
- Experience with proposal development and project execution planning.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).
- Utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning experience.
- Knowledge of cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
- Familiarity with heat pump/heat recovery chillers.
- Prior personnel management responsibilities.
