About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing at Black & Veatch will be responsible for the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems across various facility types, including power generation buildings and oil & gas structures. This role involves engaging in design and construction activities, ensuring code compliance, and applying sustainable design strategies. Responsibilities

• Participate in the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Engage in design and construction activities for various facility types.
• Conduct energy audits and efficiency studies.
• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Apply sustainable design strategies and assist in obtaining LEED certification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License.

Nice-to-haves

• LEED AP certification with experience in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
• Basic knowledge of NFPA standards and ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards.
• Experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers.
• Familiarity with the International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes.
