About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Hydropower will lead, design, and manage projects related to hydropower systems, including hydro turbines, dam and water conveyance systems, and generator cooling systems. This role involves performing dam safety inspections and designing improvements for various systems, contributing to the company's commitment to sustainable infrastructure and clean energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage new and upgraded projects on hydropower systems.
• Design and oversee hydro turbines, dam and water conveyance systems, and generator cooling systems.
• Perform dam safety inspections and recommend design improvements.
• Manage the design of HVAC systems, spillway gates, and low-level outlets.
• Ensure project delivery meets quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in mechanical or systems engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Experience in power generating facilities or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of mechanical or systems engineering experience in power generating facilities.
• Previous experience managing projects in a utility power plant setting.
• Experience in design and operation support of hydroelectric generation stations.
• Client-facing experience.
