Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) is seeking a Senior-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This position is crucial for establishing, maintaining, and improving company standards and tools, which are essential for contributing to the success of various projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical or process engineering, with specific expertise in biogas, bulk solids material handling, food and beverage, or other industrial facilities and equipment. Familiarity with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software is necessary, along with a solid understanding of design documentation creation and layouts. The candidate should demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and maintain a growth mindset, continuously developing their technical and professional skills. Responsibilities

• Provide design, coordination, and oversight of various mechanical systems typical for biogas, bulk solids material handling, food and beverage, and other industrial facilities including process piping, conveying systems, dust collection, general plant/facility water, compressed air, and gas systems.
• Manage the completion of all project design calculations and equipment specifications typical for biogas, bulk solids material handling, food and beverage, and other industrial facilities including bulk solids conveyors, dust collection equipment, bins/tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, and other process equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate all aspects of the project's mechanical design within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide oversight and coordination of projects, working with the assigned design managers and project managers, to meet project budgets and schedules for all mechanical discipline activities.
• Manage other design partners (both internal and external) including construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers and designers assigned to the project or task and review work progress and results.
• Perform detailed technical bid analyses for equipment typical for biogas, bulk solids material handling, food and beverage, and other industrial facilities.
• Generate and check design deliverables such as PFD's, P&ID's, process simulations, datasheets, and vendor shop drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Support the construction team including representing the design team on-site, answering RFI's, providing creative design solutions, etc.
• Develop schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion.
• Perform early project design work such as conceptual studies, process flow diagram development, mass/energy balances, preliminary equipment sizing and selection, and general facility layout/arrangement.
• Train, mentor, and advise peers and support staff on proper application of industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering program from an ABET accredited four-year university.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of industry related engineering experience.
• Experience leading an engineering and design team is preferred.
• Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Preferred experience utilizing AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software (or equivalent).
