About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer, Licensing - Nuclear position at PSEG involves providing technical support for the Subsequent License Renewal Project at the Hope Creek and Salem Generating Stations. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing necessary analyses, documentation, and assessments related to the license renewal project, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting project management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reviews of technical documents.
  • Support Subsequent License Renewal project for both sites.
  • Provide support to the application process.
  • Review or update Aging management program documents.
  • Participate in benchmarking activities through industry assessments.
  • Interface with vendor/contractor subject matter expert's personnel, supporting the project.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Corporate and both Stations AMP owners.
  • Support procedure revisions implementing the subsequent license renewal application.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • BS Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience
  • Basic knowledge of licensing and power plant operations
  • Must meet Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Site Access
  • Demonstrated project management skills including Microsoft product usage (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of NRC regulations and guidance that apply to licensing and license renewal of nuclear power plants
  • 5-7 years of experience in nuclear power plant Engineering or Operations
  • 2-5 Years of Licensing and/or Regulatory experience
  • Previous or current SRO certification
  • PE License
  • Experience with license renewal services including studying business cases for proceeding with License Renewal or Subsequent License Renewal, Generic Aging Lessons Learned, preparing LR or SLR applications, Time Limited Aging Analysis, Aging Management Plan upgrades and Period of Extended Operation implementation.
