About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer at JE Dunn Construction will be responsible for overseeing complex mechanical and electrical construction activities within the Advanced Facilities Group. This role involves data collection, developing estimates, and conducting systems and bid analysis to support innovative projects in the industrial and manufacturing sectors, including data centers and semiconductor facilities. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the company's safety and quality plans and culture.
• Complete routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
• Develop budgetary mechanical/electrical estimates based on design information.
• Assist in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction.
• Complete systems analysis for select projects and recommend best systems.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process.
• Develop sequencing requirements for various systems to meet schedule requirements.
• Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
• Assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
• Support the commissioning process by developing checklists and testing procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering in construction.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and construction processes.
• Ability to develop budgetary estimates and perform systems analysis.
• Familiarity with design documents and quality control programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data center or semiconductor projects.
• Knowledge of automated M/E estimating systems.
• Certification in project management or engineering.
