About the position

The M/E Engineer 3 at JE Dunn will engage in increasingly complex mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, focusing on construction activities. This role involves data collection, estimate development, and systems analysis, all aligned with the company's strategic vision. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the company's safety and quality plans and culture.
  • Complete entry-level mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information.
  • Assist in the review of mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and complete systems analysis for select projects.
  • Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assist in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Develop sequencing requirements for various systems and provide scheduling solutions.
  • Identify potential quality problems in design documents and assist in developing constructability review reports.
  • Perform job inspections to ensure specifications are met and work is completed timely and with quality.
  • Assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
  • Support the commissioning process by developing checklists and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop proficiency in JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced construction projects in industrial and manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with data center and semiconductor project requirements.
