The candidate will work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team consisting of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to develop engineering solutions from conceptualization through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production of deliverables. Job Duties: The successful applicant will have excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and design practice and be responsible for product design, engineering analysis, production drawings, vendor fabrication of prototype hardware, and procedure development. The position requires distilling information for audiences to prepare presentations, field reports, cost estimates, and design reviews. In addition to these technical responsibilities, the engineer may also support the Program Manager in handling the technical, cost, and schedule requirements of current tasks, as well as contribute to the strategy and vision for future tasks based on customer need. Candidates must be professional, self-starters, innovative, have strong communication skills, and work well with engineers, technicians, and customer staff. Required Qualifications Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance Minimum five (5) years' prior relevant experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or related field with a University Degree OR three (3) years' prior relevant experience in a Mechanical role or related field with an Advanced Degree. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment balancing often widely different project tasks and types Proficient with material mechanics and engineering dynamics Experience with test planning, reports, and/or procedure documentation Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (eg SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) Ability to lift 50 pounds Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
