About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer position at IMEG Corp. is designed for an experienced professional who will provide high-level leadership, mentoring, and training to less experienced staff. This role encompasses various aspects including technical guidance, project management, marketing, and business development. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant design recommendations and decisions with minimal input from senior staff, demonstrating a mastery of the technical aspects of mechanical engineering. In this role, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will plan design work by discipline for projects of all sizes, assigning duties to staff members involved in these projects. They will also review correspondence prepared by junior staff and actively participate in the quality control processes for projects. The position offers two distinct paths: a Technical Path, where the engineer contributes to leadership within the Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects, and a Project Management Path, where they will serve as Project Manager on complex projects, identifying prospective clients and assisting in marketing efforts to develop new business. The engineer will play a crucial role in project reviews, ensuring quality control for large, complex projects, and will provide technical assistance to resolve field issues, often requiring site visits. This position demands a high level of communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively mentor and lead others, and to communicate with clients and team members. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineer license. The role also includes physical requirements such as the ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and occasional driving and kneeling.
