About the position
This is a senior level mechanical engineering position focused on the analysis, design, and licensing requirements of mechanical and nuclear systems and components for nuclear power plants. The role involves a variety of responsibilities related to the design and modification of nuclear power plant systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Involved in nuclear power plant systems design.
- Preparation or review of modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
- Development of system and component performance specifications.
- Creation of functional mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
- Conducting engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
- Drafting technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
- Evaluating vendor bids for plant equipment.
- Conducting studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
