About the position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Anduril Industries, you will play a pivotal role in transforming military capabilities through advanced technology. Your primary responsibility will be to own hardware from the initial concept generation phase all the way to real-world application. This involves applying first principles physics as the foundation for every decision you make, ensuring that your designs are not only innovative but also practical and effective in real-world scenarios. You will lead design reviews, conduct thorough analyses, visit vendors, and define as well as execute hardware test plans. Your hands-on approach will be crucial as you build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Additionally, you will support critical hardware demonstrations with customers, showcasing the capabilities of the systems you help develop. Travel to test sites may be required to ensure that the hardware meets the necessary standards and performs as expected in various environments. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and practical experience, as you will be expected to navigate complex engineering challenges while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality results. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of military systems, making this role both challenging and rewarding.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
  • 7+ years of mechanical experience in a professional setting
  • CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
  • High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
  • BS, M.Eng, MS or PhD in an engineering field
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in NX/Teamcenter
  • Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.)
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing
