About the position

ITI Engineering LLC is an award-winning supplier of software, hardware, engineering services, and products in the aerospace defense industry. The company designs and manufactures specialized hardware and software products for aerospace and commercial customers, supporting the world's leading fighter aircraft. ITI produces mission support devices, data transfer equipment, cryptographic data transfer systems, servers, and firmware for components that are critical support system elements for several of the world's leading fighter aircraft. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a nimble and innovative team that finds creative design solutions to customer problems in both airborne and ruggedized ground-support spaces. Your responsibilities will include product architecture design of electro-mechanical systems, technical proposals, detailed design and qualification, and production implementation. You will collaborate with talented systems, electrical, and software engineers in a culture of fast-paced innovation. As a senior team member, you will take a lead role in project execution and mentor energetic junior engineers. With an on-site state-of-the-art machine shop dedicated to research and development, you will see your designs move from concept to reality in hours instead of months.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical architecture and detailed component design
  • Contribute to technical proposals to grow our business
  • Provide subject matter expertise in thermal design and shock/vibration performance
  • Technical team leadership of projects from concept to production hand-off
  • Understand and execute industry best-practices in model and drawing creation
  • A hands-on engagement in prototype construction and qualification testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency with the use of 3D CAD programs to create solid models, 2D detail and assembly drawings. Experience with Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with hands-on assembly, fabrication, prototype evaluation, manufacturing ramp-up and production release process
  • Strong knowledge of thermal design. Experience with ANSYS/FLUENT preferred
  • Strong knowledge of shock and vibration design. Experience with Inventor Nastran preferred
