The position involves developing program and project requirements, as well as creating highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions, including alternatives for the Production System. The role requires validating the analysis of technical data, influencing product engineering design, and making recommendations regarding robotics, automation, or technical aspects to support production system integration. The individual will lead the creation and modification of equipment and tooling definitions at the program level, ensuring that project plans are executed effectively while providing input to Make/Buy decisions. Collaboration with Procurement is essential to meet program schedule, cost, and quality targets. Compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements is a critical aspect of this role. The candidate will lead gated reviews and develop plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spare parts management. They will also validate contractual performance milestones and develop work-arounds while maintaining the configuration of hardware, software, and documentation. Conducting studies and making recommendations for the disposition of assets is also part of the responsibilities. The position requires evaluating customer and operational needs to define and coordinate mechanical support equipment performance requirements, integrating technical parameters, and ensuring compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces. Providing engineering expertise during production development activities is essential, as is participating in equipment and tool inspections to ensure that requirements are met. The candidate will lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts, aid engineers or technicians in returning equipment to production, and conduct training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Additionally, the role includes providing technical management of suppliers and leading process improvements, as well as creating and implementing maintenance workshops with production and maintenance personnel.
