About the position

The Senior Mechanical Operations Manager at STV, Inc. is responsible for leading large projects related to mechanical systems design across various markets, including Healthcare, Education, and Federal sectors. This role combines engineering and management duties, overseeing departmental activities, ensuring quality and compliance, and coordinating with project managers to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead on large projects related to mechanical systems design.
• Manage and coordinate activities of the department, providing necessary manpower and technical resources.
• Coordinate with project managers to determine project scope, complexity, and scheduling requirements.
• Assign department personnel to provide engineering and technical support.
• Prepare manpower and cost estimates for the department as required.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of departmental work in compliance with standards and codes.
• Plan and schedule work for the department, ensuring effective distribution of assignments and resources.
• Take an active role in proposal preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited University.
• NY Professional Engineering license is required.
• Minimum of 10 years in the design of engineering systems for large complex buildings.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using energy modeling software is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Accreditation in LEED, Green Globe, or ASHRAE High Performance Buildings is preferred.
