About the position

The Senior Media Buyer at Generac Power Systems is responsible for expanding media programs through data analysis and vendor negotiations. This role involves providing strategic direction to the media buying team, executing campaigns within budget, and optimizing performance and profitability. The position also focuses on maintaining account stability and expanding advertising programs through networking and research.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates rates to ensure maximum profitability.
• Prepares correspondence for negotiation and maintains relationships with outside representatives and/or agencies.
• Monitors profitability and performance of current ad schedule.
• Reviews ad performance on each media account prior to scheduled start date of future ads to determine how buys should be made (rates, placements, creative, etc.).
• Coordinates advertising schedules and creates advertising contracts on assigned accounts utilizing our proprietary ad database.
• Coordinates with Production regarding creative needs for advertising including review of advertising pieces before public viewing.
• Provides strategic direction across the media buying team.
• Informs manager of any issues on accounts or media that will affect the overall bottom line, either immediately or in the future.
• Maintains marketing database and advertising performance metrics.
• Tests and expands into new media which results in profitable ROI.
• Initiates strategies for improvement of production and other systems in the department and helps implement them.
• Coordinates the trafficking of all ad buying contracts, insertion orders, vendor relations, and reviews and enters/approves all related invoices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of advertising or media experience.
